Role Overview

The role is focused on handling installation, commissioning, and servicing of secondary packaging machines such as conveyors, shrink bundling machines, case erectors, case packers, and sealers. The job requires practical, hands-on work at customer sites and ensuring that machines run smoothly from installation to final approval and handover.

The candidate will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure machines are properly installed, tested, and performing as per required standards. The role also involves solving technical issues, reducing machine downtime, and ensuring high-quality service support.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and breakdown maintenance at customer sites.
  • Diagnose root causes of machine failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with design and production teams for technical support and improvements.
  • Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and optimization of machines for efficient performance.
  • Maintain and update service reports, checklists, and machine history records.
  • Manage spare parts identification, requirement, and coordination with the inventory team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards during installation and service activities.
  • Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and modification work as required.
  • Provide feedback from site to improve machine design and performance.
  • Ensure timely completion of service calls and minimize machine downtime.
  • Travel extensively to customer locations for service and support.
  • Handle customer queries and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in documentation such as manuals, SOPs, and service guidelines.
  • Support FAT/SAT activities and ensure all performance parameters are met.

Requirements

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
  • Good understanding of packaging machinery and its working.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand machine layouts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for site work.
  • Good communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC/HMI is an added advantage.
